Our typically 2 day (12hr) paediatric first aid course has received exceptional feedback. We tailor this to your specific environment to ensure it is absolutely relevant whilst ensuring we cover the mandatory elements. 

It is designed for anyone responsible for the care of infants and children, including nursery staff, childminders, teachers, teaching assistants, sports coaches and childcare professionals. Meeting the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, this comprehensive course provides the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to respond effectively to a wide range of paediatric emergencies.

During the course, learners will cover topics including:

• The role and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider
• Assessing emergency situations safely
• Infant and child CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Managing unresponsive infants and children
• Choking in babies and children
• Severe bleeding and shock
• Burns and scalds
• Fractures, sprains and soft tissue injuries
• Head, neck and spinal injuries
• Asthma, anaphylaxis and allergic reactions
• Seizures, meningitis, diabetes and other childhood medical conditions
• Poisoning, bites and stings
• Recording incidents and maintaining a safe childcare environment

On successful completion, participants will receive a nationally recognised 12-Hour Paediatric First Aid certificate, valid for three years.

Our 6hr Emergency Paediatric First Aid course is designed for those who care for infants and children and need the essential skills to respond confidently in an emergency. Ideal for parents, grandparents, babysitters, school staff, sports coaches and childcare professionals, this practical course provides the knowledge and confidence to manage life-threatening situations until emergency services arrive.

During the course, learners will cover topics including:

• The role and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider
• Assessing an emergency situation safely
• Infant and child CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Managing an unresponsive infant or child
• Choking in babies and children
• Severe bleeding and shock
• Seizures
• Anaphylaxis and allergic reactions
• Minor injuries, including cuts, grazes, burns and scalds
• Incident reporting and emergency procedures

On successful completion, participants will receive an Emergency Paediatric First Aid certificate, valid for three years.
